New with Old Linn Run Coffee Bean Roastery

New! The organic, shade grown Brazilian beans have arrived! Dave roasted some and they smell wonderful. We now have organically grown Sumatra and the organic & shade grown Brazilian Bobolink Farms blend. We & our roaster will be at the farmers market in Rector again this Saturday, 10-4 selling iced & hot coffee, 6 oz. and 12 oz bags of fresh roasted beans. Come see us!

I've sold several already and Dave's latest roast hasn't been "bagged" yet. I will be delivering them asap to our new customers sunbathing at Ligonier Beach.

Big accomplishment!

My Mother called in the am to ask if we had any more coffee. They were out.

The accomplishment? My Mom, Dad and Grandmother are Maxwell House users with Dunkin Donuts as the splurge. Apparently they ran out, brewed the Dunkin' Donuts and did not like it anymore. My 93 year old grandmother wrinkled her nose and asked Mom where the coffee came from. Now that's a testimonial for me. Mom says "there isn't any bitter after taste" with our coffee. She's starting to sound like a cupping expert.

Pat and Barb have Friendship Farms beef burgers + corn etc on the grill too. Very tasty!!!
Here is Dave, the Master Roaster, showing off his skills roasting some organic Sumatra coffee beans. Below that is a photo of our Old Linn Run Roastery tent with bags of fresh roasted coffee beans, iced and hot coffee + more. Just to let you know....we're trying to be as "green" also. Our coffee is organically grown, the creamer, cinnamon is too + we have raw brown sugar, stevia and agave nectar for sweetening. We also use ecotainer coffee cups etc.

We are waiting for the arrival of a new bean to try. Brazilian Bobolink beans from a group of farmers that are growing organic, shade grown beans in a sustainable way to protect the bobolink bird and everything other flora and fauna surrounding them. We hope you will try it also!

New Country/Farmers Market

For anyone out there..... visit the Back to the Garden market in Rector, Saturdays 10-4!!!

You can get there from Rte 30, turning right onto Rte 381. the bridge is closed AFTER the market.

Dave & I have been there for the last 3 Saturdays, selling coffee beans, iced and hot coffee + Dave's demonstrating the "art of roasting beans" on our roaster. It's fun, there is music & the atmosphere is like a community get together. The market is new and exists to promote LOCAL businesses, farms etc. and the community. I hope there will be some vendors out there that would like to try it out. The price is extremely reasonable, as are Pat, Barb & Joy a pleasure to work with! Vendors and visitors alike, please stop by and stay for awhile. Stay tuned....I'll post some photos

Road trip for the roaster part 3

Still going, through Nebraska....can't take Rte 80 anymore, too much flatland! Veered off and went South to Colorado. Ended up with beautiful sunset and tornado warnings, incredible lightning 180 degrees around us- wish I could've caught the storm on the camera
